11 December

Dear Students,

I have many different names all round the world. I am called Santa Claus, Pere Noel, Papai Noel, Gwiazdor, Jultomten, Kerstman, Joulupukki, Shengdan Laoren and many more names, but my real name is Saint Nicholas.

People in Holland call me "Sinterklaas" which is the Dutch name for Saint. Nicholas. When they went to America, the Amercians thought the Dutch people were saying Santa Claus not Sinterklaas. They made films about me and used the name Santa Claus. That is why so many people now call me by that name.

I began giving gifts to children and those in need a very long time ago.  I am very old in years, but young at heart! I want children everywhere in the world to be happy.

Rudolf and my other reindeers are excited about their long trip around the world on Christmas Eve. We will visit countries in the southern part of the world first as they will go to bed first.

I have my list of the presents you asked for but you will have to wait until Christmas morning.

See you on Christmas Eve!

PS. I visited your Father Christmas page. I thought you did a good job finding out about me.
