This was the night when all sorts of naughty things were done – the main idea being to put things in the wrong place. 4 Nov Guy Fawkes Night (Bonfire Night) 400th anniversary of the Gun Powder Plot was in 2005 5 Nov Tar Barrels, Ottery St Mary (Devon) An old custom said to have originated in the 17th century.
