Where does Father Noel (Father Christmas) leave his presents for children in Brazil?

In Brazil, the children put out their shoes for Father Noel ( Father Christmas) to put their presents in.

In Brazil, they call Father Christmas ‘Papai Noel’.

Papai Noel wears red silk because it is too hot for him to wear the same clothes as he does in the UK.

In Brazil they have a hot Christmas because Christmas comes at the beginning of their Summer.

Most people in Brazil are Catholic or Christian, therefore, you can see many nativity scenes (Presepios) like you can in the UK.

Children perform the Nativity at local schools and church halls like we do.

On Christmas morning children open their presents which Papai Noel has left in their shoes.

For Christmas dinner they eat turkey (chester), ham (presunto), coloured rice, and vegetable and fruit dishes.

One of their side dishes is called "Christmas Rice"; it is rice cooked in milk and flavored with cinnamon.

It is common, in Brazil, to eat "Panetone", a sweet bread with dried fruits, which is a legacy from the many Italian immigrants in Brazil.

It is also common to eat "Rabanadas", a dessert similar to french toast, which is a legacy of the Portuguese colonization.

Brazilians have fireworks during the evening of Christmas Day.

The people of Northern Brazil enjoy a version of the folk play ‘OS Pastores’ (The Shepherds) . It is very different from our shepherd scene as they have female shepherds (shepherdesses) and a gypsy who attempts to kidnap the baby Jesus.
